Lyrics

This vast open expanse of velvet longing:
a sky is splashed with stars before my eyes
while a maiden smiles on dreams of love's first calling
her suitor dwells on all the ties that bind.

You see, there's no one here to blame for this old story
because these sweet and bitter tales are 'round every bend
they come to pass, yes even brilliant glory.
A little poem I wrote was all I had to send.

The veldt of love.

Oh yes, I'm grateful that you broke my heart that winter
because no longer must I take to heart that call
to wander woods and suffer thorns and splinters.
You see, one illusion is equal to them all!

The veldt oflove
